Yes. Joint applications combine both incomes, and most lenders apply the multiple to the total. Two applicants earning £30,000 each are usually assessed the same as one earning £60,000.
Yes. Lenders count the minimum monthly payment on any outstanding balance as a committed outgoing, and it reduces your borrowing by roughly the annualised amount times the income multiple. Clearing a card before applying can meaningfully increase your figure.
Usually in part. Lenders commonly count 50% to 100% of a regular bonus or commission, and they differ enormously on this. If a large share of your pay is variable, which lender you apply to matters more than the rate.
